“Young Living essential oils are for all the moms and moms-to-be around the globe who wish to choose a more natural approach to motherhood and believe being pregnant is not an illness, but rather a joyous time in their lives as they wait for their blessings to arrive.” – Debra Raybern, N.D., M.H., C.N.C., I.C.A.
What are they?
Essential oils are concentrated liquids extracted from aromatic plants. These natural oils protect plants from insects, environmental conditions, and disease. If you’ve ever squeezed a lemon or orange peel and seen the liquid that comes out – that’s the essential oil. And when grown, harvested, and distilled properly, essential oils can have a wide array of uses and tremendous health benefits.
Essential oils have been used throughout time dating back to 4500 BC. From perfumes and aromatherapy to cooking and medicinal purposes, essential oils have been used in everyday life for centuries. In modern days, research shows that pure essential oils can provide similar benefits to humans and animals that they give to plants.
Why Young Living Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils?
Unlike synthetic, perfume-grade oils that simply smell good,Young Living Therapeutic Grade (YLTG) essential oils are pure, natural, and unadulterated. YLTG means that every essential oil that Young Living distills or sources has the optimal naturally occurring blend of constituents to maximize the desired effect.
YLTG oils must meet specific criteria in four key areas: Plants, Preparation, Purity, and Potency.
Plants: YL has extensive experience selecting the correct species of plant for desired oil potency: planting under optimal conditions, using ideal soil and natural methods to encourage growth, and knowing the precise time to harvest each crop.
Preparation: To meet YLTG distillation standards, proper temperature must be maintained throughout the distillation process, and pressure, length of time, equipment, and batch size are strictly monitored.
Purity: Every batch of essential oil bottled by YL is subjected to stringent laboratory testing to ensure the oils have the strongest possible YLTG properties.
Potency: Potency means that each oil has the optimum level of natural plant chemicals that are guaranteed to work for your needs.
Only Young Living oils come with the Seed to Seal quality commitment, a promise of conscientious, strategic sourcing methods, avoidance of doing harm to the environment, and depletion of natural resources, thereby supporting long-term ecological balance.
How to Use Essential Oils:
There are three basic basic ways to use essential oils: inhalation, topical application, and internal consumption. The inhalation of essential oils heightens the senses and can trigger numerous desired responses in the body. There are several ways including direct inhalation (smell), diffusing of the oils, and filling a humidifier. To apply topically is to apply the essential oil directly onto the skin where indicated. Finally, internal consumption methods include putting several drops into an empty capsule, adding to a glass of water, dropping onto a piece of bread, into meals with cooking, or dropping directly onto the tongue.

Why Essential Oils?
Having now used essential oils at many births, I wouldn't attend a birth without them ever again!! They really helped change the mood of the room and my clients say essential oils have relieved pain and given them energy and clarity of focus. I have 30+ different oils that I bring with me to each birth.
Essential Oils calm the mother, mask that yucky hospital smell, and make the room feel like a spa! I can use them with massage to help you relax or diffuse them throughout the room. Oils have so many benefits for a woman in labor! The nurses and care providers who enter the room even benefit from the amazing scents and calming atmosphere.
