Birth Doula Fees
Most first time labors usually last 16 hours or more, rather than the few hours you may be imagining/hoping for. The longest continuous time I've spent providing labor support is 82 hours. Therefore, I limit the number of clients that I take so as to avoid conflicts.
I only take a maximum of 2 private clients per month. To be fair to everyone, I DO NOT consider myself booked until I have received both a signed contract and retainer fee.
At this time, DONA International has informed us that we are no longer able to bill through insurance. I appologize for this inconvenience.
I am, however, able to accept Medical Flexible Spending Cards via Square.
My fee for the services described here are to be paid as follows:
$200.00 due as a retainer fee when you return your signed contract and select me to be your doula.
$500.00 due at the 32nd week of pregnancy
$500.00 due at the 38th week of pregnancy
I accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Credit card payments are accepted through Paypal, however a 4% convenience charge will apply. I also now accept credit card payments via Square. I am happy to work with you to accept flexible payments and will work with you to accommodate your financial needs.
Travel fees: For clients living outside of a 40 mile service area, there will be an additional $25 per visit travel charge.
I make every effort to provide the services described above, however:
If I fail to attend your birth due to my error and am unable to provide a backup doula, there will be no charge for my services beyond the retainer fee, which covers the cost of the prenatal visit(s), handouts, and my “on-call” availability.
If it is due to circumstances beyond anyone's control (for example, natural catastrophic events or an extremely rapid labor), there will be no charge for my services beyond the retainer fee.
If it is due to your failure to call me, you will owe me, the agreed upon full fee for service.
Other situations may apply. See your contract for details. All services abide by terms set within the signed contract.
